Rike Square Complex Tbilisi, Georgia

The city of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, held an international design competition for a commercial complex to become the central structure of the city’s development project along the Tbilisi riverbank. We were selected among the seven participants. Given the ambitious and growing requirements unique to the construction of an emerging nation’s capital, we determined that integrating the site with the historic block on the opposite bank was a pressing issue to be addressed. Our straightforward proposal to build a bridging structure over the Tbilisi river was well-received by the jurors and won first place in the competition.
