Saifukuji Temple

The project was to rebuild a deteriorated prayer hall of a temple. We selected a concrete structure for the building code that required fireproofing and vertically stacked the spaces to respond to the needs of formal Buddhist ceremonies. The new space for the rituals is embellished with a timber roof truss of the former hall.
