Sustainable Möbius – The world’s largest Nishijin fabric architecture
It is a pavilion that responds to the Expo theme, “Designing future society for our lives” with an exhibit about the cities and housing of the future. Through spinning, weaving, nurturing, and dreaming, aspiration and hope for “life”—a pavilion’s central theme—is entrusted to the form of Möbius strip. Clad in a Nishijin textile shell, the pavilion symbolizes the fusion of future and tradition, and above all, the concept of sustainability that encompasses continuity, circulation, inheritance, and evolution. We have named it the Sustainable Möbius.
